Submitting an abstract.
All abstracts being submitted for the ORS meetings should follow the format of the template below. Please do NOT add fancy decorations, boxes, characterful fonts, etc. - it makes for much more work when it comes to preparing the abstract booklet.
First author must present the paper.
A maximum word limit of 250 words (excluding title, authors and references) will be strictly enforced. If the word count is found to be greater than this, the abstract will be rejected outright, without further consideration. The criterion will be the number of words as determined by the word count tool in Microsoft Word.
Be accurate with what you write - all abstracts accepted for presentation at the ORS are all automatically published on the website of Clinical Otolaryngology journal.
Maximum of two references per abstract.
Abstracts should be e-mailed to the secretary at the address below before the closing date, with a covering letter providing contact details (including postal address and telephone number) of the presenting author.
Abstracts will ONLY BE ACCEPTED BY E-MAIL. ALL abstracts will be acknowledged by a return email once recieved. If you do not recieve an acknowledgement within a few days then you should assume that your abstract has not been received and you should resend it. Please note, however, that this acknowledgment only indicates that your abstract has been recieved for peer review - it does not indicate that you have been accepted for presentation.
Please note that abstracts must be unpublished and but can have been presented previoulsy at a national meeting in the UK.
Abstracts should be sent to the Society secretary at:
